How to Fit Vinyl Graphics
Applying Vinyl
Need help applying your graphics? Try the following methods (or ask us if you get stuck!)
Dry Application - Pre-spaced Lettering
Please note that vinyl graphics are designed for smooth, glossy surfaces.
Thoroughly clean the application surface prior to fitting. Make sure the surface is dry and there is no remaining residue.
Step One

Alignment
Attach the graphic in the desired position from the top using masking tape all the way along.
Step Two

Cut Sections
Cut from the bottom to the top in between shapes or letters to form manageable sections.
Step Three

Remove Backing
One at a time, lift each section and carefully remove the backing paper to reveal the adhesive side. The backing paper should be pulled slowly at almost 180 degrees away from the application tape to so that the vinyl doesn’t come away with the backing paper.
Step Four

Squeegee Time
Pull the graphic tightly from masking tape hinge at approx. 45 degrees from the surface. Work the squeegee from top to bottom, or work your way down moving side to side. Apply firmly to avoid trapping any air underneath, creating bubbles.
Step Five

Finish
Once applied, carefully remove the application tape to reveal your finished graphic. If there are air bubbles, simply pop them with a small sharp scalpel blade or pin.
Dry Application - Large Prints / Etched Panels
Please note that vinyl graphics are designed for smooth, glossy surfaces.
Thoroughly clean the application surface prior to fitting. Make sure the surface is dry and there is no remaining residue.
Step One

Alignment
Attach the graphic in the desired position from the top using a piece of masking tape centrally top and bottom, creating a hinge, and an extra piece of masking tape along the top edge on either the left or right side of the hinge for support.
Step Two

Peel Backing
Lift the “unstuck” edge from the masking tape “hinge”, peel away and cut off the backing paper leaving approx. half of the graphic ready to be stuck down.
Step Three

Apply Graphic
Pull the graphic tightly from masking tape hinge at approx. 45 degrees from the surface. Work the soft squeegee along from top to bottom o side. Apply firmly to avoid trapping any air underneath, creating bubbles.
Step Four

Squeegee Time
Remove the masking tape, and repeat the process for the opposite side.
Step Five

Finish
Once applied, carefully remove the application tape (if used) to reveal your finished graphic. If there are air bubbles, simply pop them with a small sharp scalpel blade or pin.
Fitting Wet – Large Prints / Non Air-Release Etched Panels
Please note that vinyl graphics are designed for smooth, glossy surfaces.
Thoroughly clean the application surface prior to fitting. Make sure the surface is dry and there is no remaining residue.
Step One

Wet Out Area
Put a couple of drops of washing up liquid into some water, and heavily spray the solution onto the application area.
Step Two

Remove Backing
Remove the backing paper from the graphic, and heavily spray the sticky side, leaving no areas dry.
Step Three

Slide Into Place
With the adhesive side now wet, the graphic can be easily slid in to position.Using a felt squeegee (or one wrapped with tissue paper) push all of the water from the middle out through the sides until the graphic looks completely flat onto the surface.
Step Four

Allow To Dry
Allow approx. 24 hours to dry before removing application tape, if applicable.
